Edition: a prolongation

To create explained cards was, during several years, the essence of my work of creator (freelance textile designer)

What the edition brought me, moreover, was to be able to build a deeper overall work, to compose the very whole symphony. Even if apparently, a creative book of leisure is appeared as a succession of explained cards, one can there explore a technique under several aspects, introduce a progression into the difficulties of execution and polish the explanation part, which takes in this type of work a particular importance.

Few practical books are conceived for the neophyte; a lot are written by “specialists” and are actually addressed to people who are already familiarized with the technique. To have its knowledge shared through a book is more complicated than to give courses or training courses, since there is no direct contact between the teacher and the pupils, there is no possible readjustment.

To write clear and comprehensible explanations for the greatest number, it is necessary to be compelled with a permanent mental gymnastics and to be put at every moment mentally at the place of the beginner.

To write the explanations and to work the texts take often more time than to make creation, first of all that looks like a pensum. The only way to have its creation shared is to explain it. After a while I was caught with the play, so much that I now find interest in it, and that I do not think any more doing one without the other.
